In 2012 the board of the MCS Foundation voted to distribute future awards through individual endowment funds. The following endowments have been established and will be supported each year by the Foundation:

Matthew C. Sellitto Endowment at Wesley College - $100,000

The distribution from the endowment shall be provided for general support of programs focused upon retention and student leadership or scholarship aid to defray education costs. Student beneficiaries shall be selected with an emphasis placed on the following criteria: 1. Residing in an urban environment; 2. First in his/her family to attend college.

The Matthew C. Sellitto Endowment at Providence College - $50,000

The scholarship will provide support of academic excellence and to defray the educational costs at Providence College. Preference will be given to students in financial need from urban environments in New York and New Jersey. Each scholarship will be awarded for four years provided the student remains in good academic standing.

The Matthew C. Sellitto Endowment at Seton Hall Prep - $50,000

This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman who has been accepted into the Thomas J. Griffin Bridges (Griffen Bridges) Program at The Prep. The Griffin Bridges Program provides educational, financial, and social support to enable academically talented, financially limited young men from Newark, East Orange, Orange, and Irvington, to attend Seton Hall Prep and is specifically designed to meet the needs of inner city young men.

Recognizing the tremendous support of one individual on the success and growth of the MCS Foundation, this annual scholarship will be named the Eugene W. (Gene) Mulvihill Award presented by the Matthew C. Sellitto Foundation. In addition to the endowment programs, individual scholarship awards will be made at the discretion of the Foundation’s Advisory Board.
