2004 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Caddie Scholarship Program - Christopher R. Swann
A caddy at The Rock Spring Country Club for three years, Chris graduated from Seton Hall Prep with honors. He will be entering his junior year at Marist College with a major in Finance and Economics. He is currently a member of the varsity Rugby Team and participates in the Business Club and campus ministry. While at the Prep, Chris was a member of the varsity basketball and soccer teams, both of which were state championship finalists, and participated in the Peer Leadership Program. Youth CCD projects included soup kitchens and church services at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Maplewood. Chris aspires to a career in finance upon graduation from Marist.

Chris Moorman Memorial Scholarship Award – Timothy V. Curcio
A graduate of Parsippany High School, Tim found time to be a team leader for St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany. A two sport varsity athlete, Chris lettered in both baseball and wrestling and captained his wrestling team his senior year. Tim was elected to Who’s Who In America Among High Schools and was elected to the National Honor Society. He is currently attending Livingston College/Rutgers University.

Scholar Athlete Scholarship Award – Kyle Petermann
A graduate of Mendham High School, Kyle also found time to volunteer in his church. He has been an active member in his youth group and has participated in the Appalachian Service Project, traveling to West Virginia and Tennessee to help build additions and repair homes for less fortunate people. This will be Kyle’s fifth year with the Appalachian Service Project. Kyle did well during his first year at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He made the Dean’s List both of his semesters and started a Track and Field Program at the school. He is an active member in the Architecture Student Union and will be representing the sophomore architecture students next semester.

Seton Hall Prep Scholarship – John N. Durkin
Currently a senior, John is an honor roll student who finds time to participate in a variety of school and community activities. As a member of the National Honor Society, John maintains a 4.0 GPA while participating in a number of service projects. He is also a Seton Hall Prep Ambassador and a member of the Peer Leadership Program where he advises freshmen new to the school. Outside of school, John is a coach and mentor for the New Jersey Devils Youth Special Needs Hockey Program and has traveled with the Habitat for Humanity program to build low and moderate-income housing for the less fortunate. John will begin his freshman year at Seton Hall University with a major and aspires to be a high school history teacher.

The Harding School Award – Daniel Naturman
Daniel Naturman has been an honor roll student throughout middle school. He has been involved in the Gifted and Talented Quest program for many years and was selected to participate in our PEER Leadership Program in 7th and 8th grade. Daniel has been a member of the Harding Township School Band which also participates in the Harding Township's annual Memorial Day Parade. Daniel's essay was selected by the Harding Township Civic Association for the Memorial Day Essay Contest in May 2004. Daniel participated in three sports - Soccer, Basketball and Track throughout middle school and worked on the Yearbook for the Class of 2004. Daniel was also an 8th grade representative to the Student Council. Daniel has received the Harding "H" award for excellence in academics, character, school service and sports. Outside of school Daniel is very active in his Temple and did a service project for his Bar Mitzvah which involved planting trees in Israel. Daniel will be attending The Delbarton School in the fall.
